Tomorrow, on the Solemnity of the Annunciation, Pope Francis will be consecrating Ukraine and Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Friday, March 25, 2022. This comes as hostilities continue in Ukraine, and in response to the request made by Our Lady several times, beginning in Fatima in 1917, that Russia be consecrated to the Immaculate Heart of Mary by the Pope and by all the bishops.
Pope Francis will be making the Act of Consecration at approximately 1:30 pm, our time, tomorrow, following a penance service scheduled to begin at noon, our time. It will be televised on several TV channels, including EWTN, and will be live-streamed. At the same time, Cardinal Krajewski, the papal almoner, will be making the Act of Consecration from the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima in Portugal. Bishop Checchio will be joining many of his fellow bishops in solidarity with the Holy Father. Bishop Checchio will be making the Act of Consecration as part of the 12:10 Mass at the Cathedral of St. Francis, which will be live-streamed. Bishop DiMarzio will be making the Act of Consecration at the Blue Army Shrine in Washington Township, NJ, at noon, right before the noonday Mass.
The complete English text of the Act of Consecration is available on many websites. You can find the text from Vatican News here.
You are invited to join the Holy Father and the bishops around the world by watching the ceremony on television or computer and praying along with them, or by joining either Bishop Checchio or Bishop DiMarzio in person, or by simply praying the Rosary sometime tomorrow with the intention of joining in the Act of Consecration.
We live in perilous times. It is vitally important that we accept Our Lady’s offer to intercede for peace and justice in this war torn part of the world, and for the conversion of Russia.
God bless.
Father David
