Ministry Fair Recap
The Ministry Fair was a big success. Thank you to Patty Marshall and Miguel DeJesus for coordinating this event. We thank all the helping hands who assisted with the Ministry Fair, the set-up crew, all the ministries who participated, everyone who sat behind the tables, and our religious education students who assisted. Thank you to all those who donated to the tricky trays and who donated baskets and door prizes and to all who attended. We were happy to have 38 parishioners sign up for various ministries.

Offertory Envelope Etiquette
While online giving is the best and easiest way to make offertory and special contributions to the parish, many thanks also to all who use the offertory envelopes for making their weekly and special contributions to the parish. If you are receiving envelopes, but do not use them, we ask that you please call the parish office so that we can cancel your envelope subscription, since each subscription costs the parish a bi-monthly fee to maintain.
Our counters have asked me to make a special plea that you not use tape to seal your envelopes. Each envelope already has glue on the flap that can be lightly moistened and that sƟll leaves the envelope easy to open. Tape makes it much more difficult for the counters to count the collections quickly and efficiently. Also, please don’t engage in “Catholic origami.” There is no need to fold currency multiple times. Unfolding is time consuming and tedious for the counters. Of course, if you are putting in a $100 bill, you may fold it as many times as you wish =)
Religious Education Updates
Classes are scheduled to be IN PERSON in September. Re-Registrations and registrations for new students are due at this time as classes are filling up!
The Religious Education program is in need of the following volunteers for September, 2021-May, 2022:- Tuesday 4:00-5:10PM: Grade 3 Catechist and Assistant
- Tuesday 5:10-5:40PM: Sacramental Preparation Catechist Needed
- Tuesday 7:00-8:15PM: Grade 8 Catechist
Please consider donating your time and talent to guide the children of our parish on their journey of faith. As always, all volunteers must be fingerprinted, background checked and attend a one-time Protecting God’s Children Workshop.
Youth Lunch with Bishop Checchio
The Diocese of Metuchen’s Office of Hispanic Evangelization invites our youth to join Bishop Checchio for a Youth Brunch, on Saturday, September 25 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Cathedral of Metuchen. RCIA Info Session
Altar Rosary Society News
The Altar Rosary is having their Communion Breakfast on Sunday October 3rd in the school cafeteria immediately following the 8:00 a.m. Mass. Tickets are $12 and please contact Lu Ann Smith at 732-754-8871 to obtain tickets. All are welcome for good food, fellowship and to hear Deacon Tom speak.
Sacred Relics Exposition
Our Lady of Mount Virgin Parish will host a presentation on and exposition of Sacred Relics on Saturday, September 26 at 3:30 pm.
Father Carlos Martins of the Companions of the Cross will be here with a very special Vatican collection of over 150 relics, some as old as 2000 years. Among the treasures will be relics of:- St. Maria Goretti
- St. Therese of Lisieux (the “Little Flower")
- St. Francis of Assisi
- St. Anthony of Padua
- St. Thomas Aquinas
- St. Faustina Kowalska
